Thomas V. Ryan is a media and technology entrepreneur and a pioneer in the digital music industry.
Currently, Tom is the mobile music consultant to the youth-oriented wireless carrier Virgin Mobile USA, a joint venture between Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Group and Sprint PCS. Additionally, Tom is a non-executive director of Rutherglen Capital, an international media-focused hedge fund.
Formerly, Tom served as co-founder and chief music officer of Cductive, a pioneering online music company and one of the first distributors of downloadable (mp3) music and custom CD compilations. In December 1999, Tom sold the company to Emusic.com, which was in turn acquired by Universal Music Group.
He holds a B.A. in government from Dartmouth College and an M.B.A. from INSEAD in France.
