Ken Rutkowski is a local resident of LA who is (hyper) active in the new media arena, with a special emphasis on the emerging technologies that will be especially significant for Los Angeles' media and entertainment companies: from wireless, multimedia to convergence technologies. Ken has cultivated a phenomenal network of relationships, ranging from the biggest tech companies (Microsoft, Sun, and IBM) to the motion picture studios and of course the local software development shops, IT outsourcers and IT consultants. He has done it all single-handedly. He manages to keep in touch with a huge number of people via several formats: his daily newsletter (Ken Rutkowski Daily Tech Clicks), which is read by an audience of over 42,000 daily; a daily radio show (World Tech Round Up) on the topic of technology and entertainment, produced in LA and occasionally on location at big trade shows and other events with over 175,000 daily listeners; and most importantly, regular events. Ken runs three regular events in LA. There is a weekly Saturday morning breakfast in Santa Monica, where over a hundred media and tech executives gather; a weekly Tuesday lunch in Venice which is a professional networking event; and the rapidly-growing MET (Media Entertainment Technology) Salon, a speaking and panel discussion event which Ken moderates to some of the biggest players in the media, entertainment, and technology worlds. Ken has been profiled in The Wall Street Journal, Wired, Business Week, The Red Herring, Internet World, Electronic Media, Online Journalism Review, Asahi Shinbun, Bangkok Times, Yahoo Internet Life and dozens of other publications worldwide. Ken Rutkowski has been a featured presenter at over seventy industry conferences, including COMDEX, CES, CTIA, NATPE, IBC, NAB, Internet World, Streaming Media, Radio Ink and MILIA. Rutkowski is a founding member of the Streaming Media Executive Committee, and is on the board of several media, entertainment and technology companies.
