David Nathanson has served as Vice President, Advanced Services & Channel Development, Fox Cable Networks (FCN), since August, 2001 and serves as General Manager of Fox College Sports (formerly Fox Sports Digital Nets) since April 2001. He has been with FCN since September 2000, serving as Director, Broadband Strategy & Channel Development. One of the more significant growth areas of News Corporation, FCN oversees more than 30 domestic cable and satellite networks in which parent Fox Entertainment Group and News Corporation hold interests. During that time, Nathanson has advanced the distribution and placement of FCN’s content on emerging platforms, including Video-On-Demand, HDTV, Wireless, Broadband Internet, and Interactive Television. He has also developed new programming services to broaden FCN’s portfolio including FSN HD and the Fox Reality Channel. As General Manager of Fox College Sports (FCS), Nathanson directs a package of three nationally distributed networks (FCS Pacific, FCS Central, FCS Atlantic) dedicated to the college sports fan. FCS airs more than 800 live NCAA events per year and is available to approximately 40 million homes across the country. Prior to joining FCN, he was Director of Marketing for News Corporation. As such, he evaluated new media opportunities and strategic alliances. He also built News Corp’s ITV lab that houses all current and emerging Interactive Television technologies. Before News Corporation, Nathanson was the Manager of Strategic Planning for Cablevision Systems Corporation’s New Media Division and a Corporate Analyst for Comcast Cable Communications. Nathanson graduated with honors from the University of Pennsylvania and received his MBA from the Anderson School of Management at UCLA. He sits on the board of Centre Palisades Partners, is Chairman of the Los Angeles County Museum of Arts (LACMA) Avant Garde Development Committee and is the founder of CablePositive Southern California. In 2001 and 2002 David was named one of Cable Fax Magazine’s 100 most influential executives in the cable television industry.
