GREG MARTIN
Principal, Redpoint Ventures

Greg Martin is a Principal with Redpoint Ventures in Los Angeles, focusing on information technology, communications and digital media investments in Southern California. Prior to joining Redpoint, Greg was an Associate with Brentwood Venture Capital, a firm he joined in 1999.

Greg is currently a Director or Board Observer with several of Redpoint's Southern California investments including: TelASIC Communications, a maker of mixed signal chipset solutions for wireless applications; Digital Evolution, a web services management software provider; Transchip, a maker of advanced CMOS imagers for mobile phones and other portable devices; and Sabeus Photonics, a maker of fiber optic sensor systems for oil & gas and defense applications.

Prior to joining Brentwood Venture Capital, Greg worked with an Angel Investor focusing on early-stage Internet and telecommunications investments.  Previously, Greg was an Investment Banker with Donaldson Lufkin and Jenrette's Technology Group in Menlo Park and before that with Smith Barney in their International M&A and Cross Border Transactions Group.  Greg has also owned and operated a high-end men's clothing franchise in the Los Angeles area.

Greg received his M.B.A. with High Honors from the Anderson School of Business at UCLA where Greg was a Carter Scholar and a Venture Fellow. Greg also holds a Bachelors of Commerce degree, with a major in Information Systems and Accounting, from the University of Calgary.
